Known Computer Problems

Windows ME:   Problems in Cabinet Pro seem to arise when Windows ME is the operating system.  If you are currently using WINDOWS ME, it is strongly suggested that you upgrade to either the Home Edition or Professional Edition of WINDOWS XP.

HP Computers:   Apparently, Hewlett Packard's new computers automatically load (at startup) a number of memory-resident programs, one or more of which may interfere with the operation of Cabinet Pro or Door Pro.  If you experience the problem of Cabinet Pro not being displayed when you click the desktop icon after installation, you may want to try the following:

Step 1.  Click "Start"
Step 2.  Click "Run",
Step 3.  Type in "msconfig", and then press "OK",
Step 4.  On the General Tab uncheck the box  "Load start up items",
( or click the "Start UP" tab and uncheck the file, "rundll32.dll" in that window)
Step 5.  Click "Apply",
Step 6.  Restart computer and run Cabinet Pro.

Warning:  Disabling any program, including rundll32.dll, from running at startup may affect the operation of your computer.  Although an adverse effect is highly improbable by disabling rundll32.dll, it is not impossible.  Therefore, you may want to contact HP to ensure disabling rundll32.dll will not adversely affect any programs you will need operational.
